Representative Kenneth Duncan has introduced a bill which would require Illinois gun owners to carry 1 million dollars in liability insurance.
I sincerely doubt this one will make it out of the rules committee, but this is the kind of ignorance we deal with in Illinois. This is one gun owner that won’t be carrying liability insurance either way. It is a major infringement of personal liberties to require fees to exercise a constitutional right (poll taxes for example). Also, I don’t see many insurance companies being too happy about this.
Apparently having a photo of yourself training a rifle on a camera posted to your Facebook page is grounds for suspension. School Administrators at Beaver Dam School District in Wisconsin placed teacher Betsy Ramsdale on administrative leave after receiving a complaint about a photo of her holding a rifle on her Facebook page.
This is ridiculous, I hope she sues the school district for discrimination. This country is going to hell in a handbasket.
Check out what our friends in New Hampshire have to say
Read it all, you won’t regret it.
I was hoping we could get something like that into the legislature.
Edit: Apparently several other states have similar legislation. I believe there are 8: Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, Michigan, Missouri, New Hampshire, Oklahoma and Washington.
